Join Mr. Mckenna, teacher and organizer of The Flying Wheels Adventure Club, along with his student club members as they fly off into space to answer perplexing questions posed by one individual student at a time. From Olympia Middle School, they hang onto Mr. Mckenna's silver, spark-shooting wheelchair, zigzagging into the darkness of a wormhole, bending time and space to get answers to their questions.
Will's Animal Moon, the first in the series, attempts to answer Will Kearns's burning question: How do animals feel, if indeed they feel, about being kept and fed, just waiting to be sold as meat for Will's family and other humans? Through this momentous trip, Will meets Oscar, one of the chickens on his family farm. Oscar has a thing or two to say to Will and the other kids who also magically meet up with animals they consumed on the evening of the Blue Moon, like a sweet-natured cow named Cornelia, a feisty and intelligent pig named Violet, Toby the high-class turkey, and so many more!
Kids of all ages will learn about the animals humans eat, where their food is truly from, and perhaps pose some interesting questions of their own. Come along with Mr. Mckenna and The Flying Wheels Adventure Club for an exciting and magical ride!
