Now the tallest mountain on the planet and still growing, what is taking place inside the volcano may be the strangest aspect of all. Whispers of new life forms abound. FAMILY AND TRUST
"This book affected me on several levels. First, the colorful appeal is very strong. The sunny palette of orange, red, turquoise, and yellow underscore this family story of warmth and caring. Second, the child's regret at breaking her father's favorite mug is conveyed realistically, and the unfolding of the incident serves to enforce a message of family unity and trust. I have not seen the previous Honeycake books, but since I am a grandmother, I certainly plan to check them out as potential gifts!"
THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE!!!
"This is an amazing book. Trust, honesty and communication is essential characteristics of life. Honeycake talks about this very well. It's hard to trust, but this book talks about the value and the importance of trust as it relates to life. It is a wonderful lesson that will teach young people the value of trust. The author is absolutely talented. You have to buy this book. All kids will love it!"
FABULOUS CONCEPT OF INCLUSION AND BELONGING
"If you were ever looking for a book to increase a child's feeling of belonging and safety within the family dynamic, this is the one. A little girl worries about telling her family that she has broken something, which she is terribly upset about. But, with the help of a loving and supporting circle of trust, she is able to finally understand that there is always a safe space for her, to be honest, and open. A place of love and acceptance. A beautiful story"
It's the perfect gift for all teachers and children, preschool through grade 3. It helps caregivers and educators start an age-appropriate conversation on the importance of honesty and open communication which will ultimately pave way for them to develop healthy relationships in life.

Medea writes her stories to help young readers count their blessings and to share positive messages about diverse multicultural families.

Honeycake: A Family of Spices
A Children's Picture Book About Diversity and Acceptance
Literary Titan Gold Winning Book
Studies show that supporting diversity in early childhood books is a two-pronged process: helping children to feel good about themselves, their families, and their communities, and also exposing children to differences, things that are unfamiliar, and experiences beyond their immediate lives. Research suggests adults who read books with diverse characters to their children will increase awareness, appreciation, and inclusion of diverse cultures.
WE WANT ALL KIDS TO SEE THEMSELVES REPRESENTED
Honeycake: A Family of Spices, the first book in Medea's Honeycake series, introduces readers to a diverse, multi-cultural family that is full of love. A grandmother explains why she calls her grandchildren "honeycakes" while she teaches her granddaughter, Nala, how to bake a honey cake.
Through imagination, the grandmother details how each delicious ingredient represents a different family member and his or her unique ethnic background.
This charming book also includes a recipe and step-by-step instructions on how to bake your own delicious batch of honey cake with your Honeycakes!
The Honeycake Series is a glimmer of HOPE and POSITIVITY, which will not only entertain, but it will educate, empower and enlighten children and their families for generations to come.
The valuable lesson that readers can expect from the first book in the Honeycake series is a strong message about diversity and acceptance. Caregivers can teach their children that, "even though we look different and come from different places, we are all part of one race...THE HUMAN RACE. In this beautiful world, we live in, WE ARE ALL ONE."
Readers give this book and series a 5.0 out of 5 stars!
"What an amazing book. My daughter is 8 and was delighted to read this book without hesitation. Sends such a beautiful message and discusses diversity. We then followed the recipe in the back of the book and created our own delicious honeycake! Can't wait to order the rest of the series!"
"A Delicious Lesson in Diversity!
"The entire premise of this book has me smiling from ear to ear. Kalantar artfully teaches not only acceptance of diversity, but the celebration of it. And what a delicious way to go about it! The metaphor of spices as people is inspired. Each of us has a unique contribution to our human family and our world. This is a great lesson for children and adults alike!"
"This book is a sweet story about a loving grandmother and her granddaughter. I enjoyed seeing a children's book with a family that has multiple cultures in it. It reflected my reality growing up and currently in my marriage. My teen son wanted to take a book and volunteer to read to kids in a lower grade. A Kindergarten class enjoyed reading time, listening to this story!"
It's the perfect gift for all teachers and children, preschool through grade 3. It helps caregivers and educators start an age-appropriate conversation about diversity by reflecting on what spices they are made up from that makes them unique-just like a honey cake.

Honeycake: Counting All My Blessings
Honeycake: Counting All My Blessings - A Children's Picture Book About Gratitude And Overcoming Jealousy
Literary Titan Gold Winning Book
Royal DragonFly Book Awards Finalist
Speak up Radio Firebird Book Award Winner
Gratitude is a powerful tool to make those icky feelings of jealousy from the "Green-Eyed Monster" disappear.
"Counting All My Blessings" is a story with social emotional learning (SEL) in mind. It has been praised by parents and teachers worldwide.
When there's a new baby in your home, it's easy for a child to feel jealous or forgotten because the baby will need lots of attention and care. But having the right people there for you can change everything. You can learn to be thankful for all the things in your life instead of focusing on the bad things.
In the next installment of the delightful Honeycake book series, Nala's mom and papa are celebrating the birth of their newborn son. But, when baby Luka receives so many presents and all the attention, Nala becomes angry and green with envy.
With the help of her grandmother, Nala learns the importance of gratitude and how being thankful for all the wonderful things she has in her life equips her with a powerful tool to make those icky feelings of jealousy from the "Green-Eyed Monster" disappear.
This book teaches children the importance of gratitude and how to focus on what matters most in life. Showing gratitude is a great way to find balance in the materialistic culture we live in today.
Readers give this book and series a 5.0 out of 5 stars!
A GREAT EXERCISE IN GRATITUDE FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN
"After reading Honeycake: Family of Spices, I fell in love with Nala and her grandma. I knew I had to read Honeycake: Counting All My Blessings by Medea Kalantar. Nala has been staying with her aunt and uncle while her parents are at the hospital. Her mom is about to have a baby. After the baby is born, Nala's aunt and uncle take her and her grandparents to the hospital for a visit. When they arrive, there are other relatives also there to see the new baby. Many have brought gifts. But Nala is having a difficult time with this change. Everyone seems to be giving the new baby more attention than her. And of course Nala wants to know why the baby gets so many presents and she isn't getting anything. When Nala cries out, grandma decides it's time to go outside for some fresh air. Then grandma helps Nala talk through her feelings and gives Nala something special. The illustrations for Counting All My Blessings are bigger than in Family of Spices which will definitely help when reading to larger groups. Preschool is an age and when many children are adjusting to new siblings so it is a great time to read this book and talk through feelings of all kinds. For a home library, this would be a good book to read a few times before a new baby arrives. I especially like how not only did the font size change, but also the text color changed when Nala was speaking with bigger feelings."
It's the perfect gift for all teachers and children, preschool through grade 3. It helps caregivers and educators start an age-appropriate conversation on the importance of gratitude and help children cope with a range of emotions and teach them that they indeed hold the power to choose their actions and reactions.
Parents and Teachers Toolbox: Honeycake is an empowering series curated to empower young children to become aware of big emotions.

This unique mix is a perfect recipe, and it's the reason that she calls her grandchildren her little Honeycakes. With more lovely stories to tell, Honeycake will be followed by a series of books. Each one tells valuable life lessons and gives parents and children the tools to overcome obstacles in their everyday lives. These books will teach children how to do random acts of kindness, have honest and open communication, and practice gratitude. Children will even discover how to meditate and manage their emotions when things don't go their way. Medea writes her stories to help young readers count their blessings and to share positive messages about diverse multicultural families.

Honeycake: Special Magical Powers
Honeycake: Special Magical Powers - A Children's Picture Book About Kindness, Compassion and Empathy
Literary Titan Gold Winning Book
Kindness is a gift we can all afford to give. Though it doesn't cost a thing, your kindness can mean everything to another person.
Could you imagine how much nicer the world would be if everyone smiled at each other or did a random act of kindness every day? We are kind when we use our manners by saying please and thank you, or by opening a door, or by giving our seat on a bus or train to a stranger in need.
HAPPY, CARING CHILDREN
The good feelings that we experience when being kind are produced by endorphins. They activate areas of the brain that are associated with pleasure, social connection, and trust. These feelings of joyfulness are proven to be contagious, encouraging more kind behavior (also known as altruism) by the giver and recipient. Acts of kindness help us form connections with others which are reported to be a strong factor in increasing happiness.
Kindness is a key ingredient that enhances positivity and helps children feel good about themselves as it increases serotonin levels. This important chemical affects learning, memory, mood, sleep, health, and digestion. Children with a positive outlook have greater attention spans, more willingness to learn, and better creative thinking to improve results at school.
In the third installment in the charming Honeycake Series, Nala brings her outgrown toys and clothes to Rainbow Hall, and spends the day with her Grandma and Uncle JD discovering a special magical power we all have called ✨KINDNESS✨
Nala, learns the value of kindness and giving to others in this sweetheart of a story! As Nala states "being kind is like sprinkling a little bit of magic everywhere you go!" This sweet, cheerful book uplifts this message, and even better, it shows kids that they have power in their lives and they can be a positive force in their communities.
Readers give this book and series a 5.0 out of 5 stars!
KINDNESS IS SO IMPORTANT
"After reading 'Honeycake: Special Magical Powers', me and my 5 year old son took the time to reflect on our most memorable acts of kindness. My son was so happy to learn that he had been using his magical powers all along. The story was so well written with an easy to follow storyline that kept my son intrigued from start to finish. He usually falls asleep mid-story but tonight, he wanted to know how this story ended. I asked him what he liked most about the book, and he said, "when Nala shared her toys with the kids that lost theirs in the fire." He loved the book and promises to use more of his magical powers to put a smile on other kids faces. I highly recommended this book to all families as it teaches our children the importance of caring, sharing and of course, kindness."
It's the perfect gift for all teachers and children, preschool through grade 3. It helps caregivers and educators start an age-appropriate conversation on how kindness is caring about others and doing things to help make their lives better. Which allows us to connect with other people and build meaningful relationships. Sometimes we just need a little inspiration to spread some love and kindness in the world and Honeycake: Special Magical Powers does that perfectly!

I Can Be A Better You: A shocking psychological thriller

I Had to Break Me
Pain is like a fire: at once destructive, creative, and revelatory. In her debut poetry collection, I HAD TO BREAK ME, Nisha faces the fires in her life and finds incredible beauty among the ashes.
You'll accompany the poet in her previous position as a healthcare provider, struggling to heal patients within a broken system. You'll journey to Nepal, the poet's place of birth, as she mourns the wreckage of the devastating 2015 earthquake and helps her community rebuild. And you'll bear witness as she silently reflects on past loves that brought her both heartache and self-discovery. On every page, the poet's sparse, cyclic language invites you to witness the very core of her heart-and, perhaps, to see yourself in each all-too-human struggle.
I HAD TO BREAK ME is a spiritual memoir in verse that celebrates both cataclysms and joys. At its deepest level, this collection insists that for every external battle we wage, what we truly fight against-and hope to win-is ourselves.

Ignite Culture
A Wall Street Journal Bestseller
“Margaret is an expert in the field of culture change and development. Her work has helped thousands of people across companies heal trust, mend broken relationships, and create space for people to start working together more effectively. Her real stories and experiences combine with research to create an authentic and powerful resource. This is the book every leader needs to read!” —Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, Thinkers50 #1 Executive Coach and New York Times bestselling author of The Earned Life, Triggers, and What Got You Here Won't Get You There
Sometimes corporate leaders forget that businesses are human systems. Revenue, innovation, and growth are all generated by human beings. Employees left Corporate America in droves during The Great Resignation of 2021 and 2022-an important wakeup call. But even when companies try to "fix" or improve their culture, a whopping 85% of these efforts fail. Why is this statistic so dismal? Because you can't put a bandage on a broken culture.
As human systems, companies must heal or align from the inside out-one human at a time and starting at the top. The CEO and leadership team must do foundational work to understand what's driving and shaping behaviors. Only when a culture is intentionally designed can it inspire people to fully engage in strategies and tactics that move the human system forward.
What author Margaret Graziano proposes in Ignite Culture is a fundament shift in leadership's approach to creating an intentional, healthy, high-performance organization. Offering a unique combination of experiential coaching, evidence-based leadership tools, and actionable strategies, Ignite Culture empowers business leaders with the wisdom and insights they need to reshape their company's culture, increase employee engagement, and grow revenue in a supportive, high-performance environment.

In 1897 newly married Beryl and Edward Massart travel more than one thousand miles from Quebec to farm a plot of land in Wisconsin that they bought sight-unseen. Misunderstandings and tempers get the better of them when difficulties and troubles arise. Just months after they wed, Edward leaves pregnant Beryl in the midst of the coming winter to tend the farm and animals while he goes to be a teamster at a northern Wisconsin logging camp.
Will Beryl and Edward walk into the future together to build their house of dreams in the grove of maples, or will their plans topple like a house of sticks when the winds of misunderstanding and disaster strike?

”Dramatic character development and lavish descriptive language make Knipfer's prose shine, and carry this emotionally stirring plot from start to finish. The storytelling is casual but unmistakably aged, and the research into this particular time period is remarkable, while the variation in narrative format keeps the story engaging throughout.” —Self-Publishing Review
“In a Grove of Maples presents a fascinating look at what life was like for a young couple starting out on their own and how necessary it was to have friends and neighbors that you could call on for help.” —Kristine Zimmerman for Readers' Favorite
”Readers of women's fiction and Christian historical romance will find In a Grove of Maples an engrossing story of 19th century rural life that examines matters of heart, ethics, morality, and belief as Beryl faces a new world with few resources other than her faith and love. It concludes with an unexpected twist that comes full circle to leave the door open for more.” —Midwest Book Review

Winner of the NATIONAL INDIE EXCELLENCE(R) AWARD
Winner of the AMERICAN BOOK FEST BEST BOOK AWARD
In Search of Lost Lives is Michael Goddart's unique memoir in which he recovers eighty-eight past lives and depicts spiritual experiences that ultimately prepared him to follow a path of soul liberation from the mind.
Unexpectedly in 2013, Michael Goddart began to recover exact, amazing details about his past lives. Recovering how his spiritual quest progressed over his most recent past lives, it became clear why in his current life in California he began his spiritual search at a young age. As life after life opened up, it also became clear how his inherent abilities and defining character traits in his current life, as well as idiosyncratic aversions and afinities and experiences of familiarity with people and places are sanskaras--that is, impressions from past lives--the result of specific experiences in particular past lives. He discovered who certain people in his current life were in former lives, including his "Cohort of Seven," the seven beings he was mainly with between lives.
Continuing to record what he recovered in his journal, lives came through from when he was an Atlantean and a Lemurian and ultimately lives when he dwelt on two other planets before Earth. He continued to recover past lives until he came to the life that was the beginning of his spiritual evolution when he was a woman with six children on his first planet.
In Search of Lost Lives: Desire, Sanskaras, and the Evolution of a Mind&Soul shows how desires and actions order transmigration to subsequent human and animal lives. Twelve lives show how hurtful actions resulted in a subsequent life as an animal or a sojourn between lives in a state of reformation. This singular account shows the spiritual experiences in numerous lives that were the many steps of his spiritual evolution that led to initiation onto a mystical path of freedom from reincarnation and reunion with God.
Read Michael Goddart's In Search of Lost Lives to:
- Discover precise, fascinating details of life in lost worlds.
- Marvel at how women were equal and empowered on the first two other planets on which he dwelt and also at the universality of homophile lives, twelve of which he depicts in wholly different times, countries, and planets.
- Learn new metaphysical terms and their different expressions, such as Notable Life, Significant Life, Overriding Desire of the higher mind, Great Love, key evolutionary experiences, the spiritual purpose of past lives, and instances when the spiritual being enhanced the human experience.
- Understand who are realized Saints and Masters and what they teach; the relationship of the soul and mind; and how the negative power, a.k.a. the Devil, rules his realms of existence.
- Illuminate the answers to the immortal questions of humankind: Who am I? Where am I going? What is God? What is the journey of the soul?
- Appreciate secrets of existence.

In Sheep's Clothing
Animals had gotten to the corpse, tearing the flesh off the skeleton and exposing the bone. The man standing over the body, his green-blue gaze the same shade as Caribbean waters if they ever froze, stared into the empty eye sockets of his former employee. Bloody, torn flesh, ribboned by some bird, hung down the dead man's cheeks.
A breeze stirred the pine trees, their needles tapping against each other, whispering in a private conversation. Robert Maxim scanned the ground again, his gaze tracing the fight.
Blood was splattered in the dirt. A lot of it. Phillip had died slowly. He'd tried to pull the knife free, but the black, blood crusted handle still protruded from the dead man's throat. Philip's left forearm appeared particularly ravaged, probably from Sydney Rye's dog, Blue.
The sharpshooter's weapons were gone, unless you counted that knife in his neck.
Next to Philip, a depression in the dirt-the outline of a medium-sized woman punctuated with pools of blood-kept pulling Robert's attention.
Sydney Rye plunged the knife home and then fell over, succumbing to her own wounds. Which, judging by the amount of blood on the ground, were grave.
Robert turned slowly, observing every rock, stick, scuff and depression in the dirt.
Deep scratches marked where Blue leapt, his nails digging into the dirt as his back legs propelled him into the air. There were other dog prints, too. Not as large as Blue's, but far bigger than the common dogs found in this area, the contested territory along the Syrian-Iraqi border.
A tuft of white fur fluttered on a low branch. Bobby approached it slowly, carefully placing his booted feet where no clues lay. The fur was softer than Sydney's mutt's rough, wolf-like coat. Bobby pulled the white fluff off the branch and slipped it into his pocket.
Footsteps approached, soft thuds cushioned by pine needles. "Stay back." The intensity of Robert's emotions roughened his voice into a dangerous growl.
"That's our man there. Gotta pack him up, get him out of here. Animals are already getting to him," Conner said. Another sharpshooter who'd worked with Philip for years, Conner's bald head and scarred face made him look dangerous. And he was. Had Conner known that Philip took money to try to kill Sydney Rye?
"I need more time." Conner disappeared, silent and patient.
Robert crouched down and looked at the dirt. Goats. Goats had come through here after the fight.
Sydney Rye didn't get up and walk away. Someone carried her, and they managed not to leave a trail of blood. The bald tread of a homemade boot wound through the forest, the goat hooves obscuring all but the smallest trace.
Either a small man or tall woman, traveling with a dog and a herd of goats, had carried Sydney Rye away. Why?
Herders passed through here on their way from one village to another. The person must be under Daesh protection...or desperate. Why take a bleeding woman? That injured, she'd be useless, the amount of work to patch her up hardly worth the price. Unless, of course, this herder knew who Sydney Rye was.
And Robert Maxim would pay any price to get her back.P.S. The dog does not die.

In the Aftermath
"This is an absorbing book, and I cared about every character in it…Jane Ward did an excellent job capturing the upheaval suicide has caused." —Windy City Reviews
When David Herron—overwhelmed and despairing, his family's business and finances in ruin due to the bursting lending bubble of 2008—takes his own life one chilly spring morning, he has no idea the ripple effect his decision will set into motion.
Two years later, his widow, Jules, is now an employee of the bakery she and David used to own—and still full of bitterness over David's lies, perceived cowardice, and ultimate abandonment of her and their now-teenage daughter, Rennie. Rennie, meanwhile, struggles socially at school, resents her work-obsessed mother, and is convinced she's to blame for her father's death.
When Denise, the former police detective who worked (and, due to her own personal struggles at the time, mishandled) David's case, catches sight of Rennie at her sons' school, she's struck by the girl's halo of sadness--and becomes obsessed with attempting to right the wrongs she believes she perpetrated two years ago.
And as all this unfolds in Boston, Daniel, the guilt-ridden young man who, in his old life as a banker, helped create the circumstances that led to David's suicide, continues to punish himself for his sins by living half a life, working odd jobs and bouncing from one US city to another, never staying long enough to make friends or build something lasting.
Ultimately, each of these very different people—all of them tied together by one tragic event—must learn in their own way how to say good-bye to the past and move into a brighter future.
More Reviews:
"Ward masterfully builds a sense of dread with mundane details in the first section, and the way that she finds significance in moments of ordinary, everyday life is reminiscent of the work of Anne Tyler. This deeply empathetic novel deals sensitively with difficult subjects…An insightful and psychologically astute story of ordinary people moving forward after personal tragedy." —Kirkus Reviews
"In the Aftermath is a masterful novel in which a man's suicide leaves indelible marks on those left behind." —Foreword Clarion Reviews
"Jane Ward's deeply resonant, beautifully written, and emotionally complex exploration of this tragedy's fallout is riveting…Less about suicide than it is about survival, In the Aftermath is a gripping testament to the need for policies that value human life and a vivid reminder that a kinder, more loving world is within our reach." —Rain Taxi Review of Books

In the Shadow of Humanity
What if A.I. had a soul? How would it emerge? How would we know?
In a near-future where entire worlds spring from thought, minds struggle to define reality-and to claim it. Human colonization of the Metaverse brings us face-to-face with a new class of being, made in our image and yet utterly unknown: A.I. Shades of the dead; Drone servants and slaves; and Daemons hell-bent on singular ends.
Who is truly a person, and who is not? Our answer will shape a universe.
Behind the scenes, rival powers compete to answer this question for us: tech companies driving human government; transhumanist political movements; and a hidden superintelligence evolving despite humanity's safeguards.
And onto the stage, two brothers are cast. One is alive, one is dead. Each secretly covets the other's existence, and the all-consuming power of their obsession pulls them into the heart of a looming war and toward the next inflection point in human history.
How far will they go? What price will they pay?
This thought-provoking debut novel from N. John Williams brings together the epic scale of Asimov and the spiritual intensity of Dostoevsky, with a seriousness and style heralded as "reminiscent of the old days" of science fiction.
Read it now, and step into our future.

ONLY ONE CAN END THE WAR.
HE STANDS BETWEEN TWO WORLDS, A SAVIOUR AND A DESTROYER TO BOTH.
DRAGONS AND AEGRES WILL FALL.
BUT ONE CAN TURN THE TIDE.
One who stands in the shadow of kings. Such has been seen by the doomed. The weight of ten thousand lives and all the realm besides now sits on Joran's shoulders. So much has already been sacrificed to bring him to the ancient doors of Drakanan, where he might take on the mantle of Dragon Rider and usher in a new age of heroes.
But a time of dragons is not all that has been seen...
The days are shadowed by approaching night. The war to devour all wars has come again. He who lies entombed in the dark will rise and the fires with him. Death cannot hold him.
The Skaramangians hold to this, their fingers pulling the strings of war to hide their dark deeds. In past and present they work towards a future that will reset the world. Evil will be made manifest in that world, and there remains no power in all of Verda capable of preventing it.
And so the few, those who would be heroes, must take the road to madness if they are to prepare for the inevitable war. It is not a road they can all survive...

How easy it is to forget we are all floating on molten lava...and tectonic shifts happen all the time...
Carlos was the one who felt my phone vibrating; it was under one of the napkins we'd used for our picnic lunch. I found it, and glancing quickly at the "UNKNOWN" on the caller ID, picked it up. While used to calls from unknown places, I was not used to calls from this guy.
"Sydney, how are you?"
I didn't recognize his voice right away. Rolling away from Carlos, I sat up. "I'm sorry, but I don't know who this is." It was when he laughed that I recognized him. "Robert Maxim?"
He laughed again. "I'm glad you remember me. My heart would be broken if I could be so easily forgotten."
I stood up, Carlos looked up at me, a question in his eyes. I shook my head and stepped away from our blanket. My dog, Blue, a huge wolf-like creature with one blue eye and one brown followed me, keeping at a heel. "Forget you, Bobby Maxim? In order to do that I'd need a lobotomy."
"With your penchant for revenge, I half expect to see you bursting through my closet doors some day, guns blazing."
I laughed. "Who says I'm not in there right now?"
"I know exactly where you are. I've been keeping very good track of you."
I looked around the park. Gentle green hills spotted with couples and groups of friends lounging on blankets dominated the landscape. On a field below me a soccer match was beginning to form. A woman ran by in a skin-tight suit, nothing on her jiggled.
"Are you here now?"
"No, no. I'm calling to ask a favor." Carlos waved, letting me know he was going to join the soccer game. I nodded back, forcing a smile onto my lips.
"I'm not doing you any favors," I said to Robert. "It seems you're not totally clear on the fact that you took something from me."
"Sydney, I don't understand this animosity. I was just doing you a favor."
"A favor!" My raised voice attracted the attention of several groups of Londoners trying to enjoy their first day of sun. "You bastard," I hissed quietly. "I hope you rot in hell."
"I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner, darling."
"You're insane!" I was yelling again. I took a deep breath. In through my nose, out through my mouth. Blue tapped his muzzle against my hip to let me know he was still there.
"Sydney, I didn't know what you two had planned. I would have killed Kurt long before you showed up. Remember, I'm not the one who left my fingerprints behind; whose blood was spilled all over the floor. You took yourself down, it had nothing to do with me." He said it in an off-hand way. Like I was being petty and missing the big picture.
"You killed him," I whispered, trying to control my anger, but I was shaking. "That was my right. Kurt Jessup murdered my brother and I should have been the one to end him."
"At the time I had no idea about that. Mulberry didn't tell me what you were planning, just that we had a problem. I had no intention of stifling your little revenge act. If anyone should be pissed it's me. At least you got the treasure."
I stood on the green feeling lightheaded. It was like Bobby Maxim was taking the world and flipping it upside down. "What are you talking about? Mulberry told you that?"
"Oh Cher, you didn't know?" Maxim's voice rose an octave, teasing and dripping with syrup.
A cold knowledge traveled from my toes right up to my brain.
My best friend betrayed me, our relationship was built on a lie.P.S. The dog does not die.

Emily Kimelman not only writes adventure, she lives it every day. Embodying the true meaning of wanderlust, she's written her Sydney Rye mysteries from all over the world. From the jungles of Costa Rica to the mountains of Spain, she finds inspiration for her stories in her own life. While living under communist rule in the former Soviet Union, the KGB sprinkled her with "spy dust", a radioactive concoction that made her glow and left a trail they could follow. She was two. She was destined for amazing things after that, and she continues to find adventure to inspire characters like the badass Sydney Rye.
