A Jazzy Little Murder: A Violet Carlyle Cozy Historical Mystery

A Jolly Little Murder: A Violet Carlyle Cozy Historical Christmas Mystery

A Lady of Conscience
A Victorian bluestocking with a passion for lost causes attracts the unwilling attention of a frost-hearted viscount during her tumultuous debut season in Bath in USA Today bestselling author Mimi Matthews's fifth book in her acclaimed Somerset Stories series.
West Country beauty Hannah Heywood may be quiet with fashionable strangers, but when it comes to animals in need, she has no trouble finding her voice. Newly arrived in Bath for her very first season, all she desires is to find one like-minded gentleman. A man of warmth and compassion, as sensitive to animals as he is to people. But if such a man exists, he dare not approach her. Not with the tall, blond, and menacing Viscount St. Clare standing in the way.
James Beresford, Viscount St. Clare has often been described as a sentient block of ice. A man so cold and dispassionate, he would never suit a young lady of Hannah's disposition. And she would certainly never suit him. Focused on repairing his family's infamous reputation, James requires a diamond of the first water. The daughter of a duke or a marquess, at least, not a simple country girl with a passion for four-legged creatures.
And yet, there's something about conscience-driven young Hannah that draws James, first to Bath, and then into one increasingly hare-brained scheme after another. She confounds him at every turn, subverting his expectations and threatening to do what no lady has succeeded in doing before-thawing his ice-cold heart.

A Life Without Flowers
Twenty-four years after losing her daughter in a tragic accident, Carol Denman has finally made peace with Katie's father. But releasing her ex-husband from blame and facing how deeply she held herself responsible were only the first steps in Carol's journey toward peace.
With the pain of her failed first marriage behind her, Carol is determined to mend her broken relationship with her mother. But she soon discovers she isn't the only one who has been hanging on to bitterness. A road trip to face the past leads Carol's mother, Judith, to unearth the seeds of past mistakes and deep resentments in ways neither of them would expect.
The roots of family animosity run deep and thick. While Judith seems hesitant to start digging, Carol commits to pruning away the thorns of the past so she no longer has to live a life without flowers.

A Light in the Sky
Red Queen meets The Scorpio Races in a high-flying new fantasy series filled with passion, betrayal, and adventure from debut author Shina Reynolds.
Seventeen-year-old Aluma Banks has always dreamed of soaring freely through the skies astride a powerful winged steed of her own. But flying is a privilege granted only to the Riders of the king's Empyrean Cavalry, the aerial warriors who defend the borders of their land from the fallen kingdom of Laithlann.
Each year, Rider hopefuls across Eirelannia compete in the Autumn Tournament for the honor of joining the Cavalry. Aluma, trained to ride and fight by her retired Empyrean Rider father, knows she has what it takes to prove herself worthy-if only her father hadn't forbidden her from joining their ranks, in the hope of protecting his only daughter from the perils of war. To make matters worse, Thayer, Aluma's best friend who could be becoming something more, is competing-and if he wins, he'll leave her behind.
When Aluma's father is tragically injured just before the Tournament, she finds herself unexpectedly thrust into this year's competition. But as Aluma begins to pursue her dreams, she learns devastating secrets about the king and his never-ending war with Laithlann. In her quest for the truth, Aluma discovers a power deep within herself that may be the only way to save Eirelannia and the people she loves from the darkness that threatens to consume them all.

A Lion in the Grass
“A Lion in the Grass has strong historical hints, a story with realistic characters, and elements of style that deepen the suspense and the overall entertaining quality of the story.” —Readers' Favorite
“Fans of Ludlum, Clancy, and other writers who hold the ability to craft high-impact spy scenarios within the broader scope of world events and interpersonal relationships will relish the attention to detail and the realistic action and perceptions cultivated in A Lion in the Grass.” —Midwest Book Review
Set over the course of six decades, A Lion in the Grass documents the despair and hope of a spy who suffers the murder of friends and enjoys the success of mentoring protégés.
The story is told through alternative viewpoints of Raymond, his protégés, and the French villain. The novel digs deeply into questions of love, self-doubt and hatred, all foisted upon Raymond during a career from which, he discovers, it is impossible to retire.
An octogenarian at the end, Raymond learns that the Frenchman is planning to kill again. To thwart the Frenchman's plot, the old spy and his protégés must engage in one last mission.

A Little Honker Companion Resource Guide: Part 1
This companion guide for the popular Little Honker series allows your early reader to learn with Little Honker and his animal friends in a fun and interactive way.
Virginia K. White, a classroom teacher for 40 years, followed her dream after retirement and began writing books for young readers. Not only have her books received honors, but so has Virginia. She was Wyoming Teacher of the Year, was selected as a teacher with the most positive influence shaping tomorrow's leaders, received the Principal's Award for Excellence in Instruction, served as the English coordinator in two high schools, was a reader of Advanced Placement Exams, and taught Advanced Placement Institutes.
Her love of students and appreciation for unique personalities and learning styles inspired Virginia to individualize lessons to reach all students. Because all students do not learn in the same way, she believes it is important to recognize those differences early. Therefore, she has created a wide variety of activities for young learners in this book. Finding what works with each learner is important It is the hope of the author that there will be activities that will not only meet the needs of a variety of learners, but that they will enjoy the adventures of Little Honker and his friends.

A Margie Surprises Doc Companion Resource Guide
In this book, she has attempted to do just that. There are several activities for young learners because finding what works is important It is the hope of the author that there will be activities that will meet the needs of a variety of learners.
About the Author
White, Virginia K.: - Virginia K. White was born in South Dakota but grew up in Nebraska. She taught English in NE, Wy, and CO. Kids, teaching, writing, and animals are among the things she loves. After 40 years in the classroom, she was able to put those loves together and write for young readers, a long time goal. She reads and talks to young readers in elementary schools as well as volunteers in the classroom of one of her former students, now an art teacher. Her philosophy is If you write for young readers, you need to be around young readers!

A Meeting of Clans
She slumped against the rock and hugged her arm close to her body. "Do I have a clan? I bear the marks of my clan, my history from the day I left childhood behind to the moment I was accepted as a fully initiated member, right here, written for all to see, yet I ran away from my clan before they could finish killing me."
Lured to the mysterious rock by prophetic dreams, Nulo the dwarf discovers what he always knew he would find: a sign that his South Pacific tribe is not alone in the new land.
But not everyone welcomes the news. Some, including Nulo's wife, want to ignore the strangers, but Nulo knows they must meet the people who left the message carved on the stone. He doesn't know that others also roam the wild country, men pushed out of their villages and left to survive any way they can.
The third entry in the Misfits and Heroes series, A Meeting of Clans follows a group from the north coast and one from the south coast as they push across the wild interior of what is now southern Mexico, 14,000 years ago.
About the Author
Kathleen Flanagan Rollins worked as a composition and literature professor at Mott College in Flint, Michigan. While there, she developed an interest in early explorers in the Americas.
This interest only grew when she traveled to ancient sites in Guatemala and Mexico. Inspired by her adventures, Rollins began her popular Misfits and Heroes series. This includes Misfits and Heroes: West from Africa, which was listed as one of Kirkus Reviews' Best of 2011, and Past the Last Island. Both books received five-star reviews from Foreword Clarion Reviews.
The latest addition to the Misfits and Heroes series, A Meeting of Clans, is now available.

A Memory of Song: First Verse of the Last Ballad
James Culdaine, the last heir of the Northern Throne, was just a young man when the armies of the South murdered his parents and subjugated his lands. He has never forgotten those responsible, nor has he forgiven. He has spent the last ten years living in isolation with The Feldarra; a sacred Northern clan of fierce warriors, led by the fearless Wulfee who, still reeling from the loss of her own children, finds new meaning in protecting what only family she has left.
Now, an ancient order of warlocks has returned to the North, singing dark songs composed of blood magic that null the elements and threaten all that is living.

His whole life has been a journey of collecting stories and stowing them like a library of experiences. Growing up in Middle Earth, Kanto, and Hyrule, before moving to darker worlds like Westeros, The Circle of The World, and The Randlands provided a sturdy foundation for Scott's imagination to grow upon. "Strong, smart characters and a daring quest result in a Victorian love story with a charmingly modern sensibility." —Kirkus
"Fans of the series will enjoy exploring secondary characters' lives and the truly heroic compromises Tom makes to be with the woman he loves." —Library Journal
"Perceptive social insights enrich this Victorian romance: into law practices, class and racial prejudice, pressures on women to conform to social conventions, snobbery and the casual assumption of privilege by wealthy and aristocratic elites.... The behavior of the characters is justified by past experience. Jenny and Tom are admirable and their willingness to make sacrifices for each other's happiness wins our sympathy. Strongly recommended." —Historical Novel Society

Helen Reddy’s “I Am Woman” became an anthem for the women’s movement while other songs like Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” offered comfort to people. This was a time for spreading peace and love.
