The Days Before Tomorrow
"Must read.... A masterful tale of love, conflict, and revenge depicting a young man's journey to adulthood in war torn Central Europe." —Reedsy Discovery
"An epic tale, told with great care, like a mural painted with a fine-tip brush, a blend of past and present. It's a remarkable debut novel." — Don Tassone, author of Francesca
In this moving, coming-of-age novel set in the heart of Eastern Europe during the years between the World Wars, a random act of violence by local anti-Semitic thugs casts Wolchi, a trusting and superstitious teenage boy, and Leja, his bookish but independent older sister, on a life-changing journey through a world gone mad.
The story unfolds over 15 years in the small towns of Western Ukraine, the urban sophistication of 1930s Krakow, and a wartime Soviet Union. A flawed, but loving Jewish family struggles with daily indignities—and its own betrayals and secrets—until WWII begins and they are shattered.
To survive, Wolchi goes to work in a Russian war factory, and Leja joins partisans fighting the Nazis. When they return home at war's end, hardened and pragmatic, the evil that murdered their family members was still walking the streets. That's when they knew: Vengeance was the key to their future.
With crisp prose and an eye for unique detail, The Days Before Tomorrow captures untold history and human complexity in a way that will linger long after the last page is read.

The Deacon: An Unexpected Life
We often end up living an "unexpected" life. Yet through it, glimmers of hope, faith, love, and peace find their way through.
After being married for forty years and serving the Catholic Church as a deacon for the last five years, leaving the diaconate was the last thing on my mind.
Life was good—wife, home, children, grandchildren, health, retirement, and an amazing ministry. Never did I expect to be a suicide survivor. Grieving the loss of my wife was difficult enough, but with suicide, the grieving process was much more intense. Being a deacon in the Catholic Church intensified that process even more.
The Catholic Church made it clear. I could not stay a deacon and pursue another loving relationship that could lead to marriage. I was aware of the rule, but after two years of discernment, I couldn't seem to make a decision. This battle put me into the hospital for open-heart surgery. Finally, with God's help, I made my decision.
Rick, a local reporter, wanted to interview me with regard to my diaconate experience and how I came to that decision. Rick turned out to be more than a reporter. This is my story. Through it, I hope glimmers of hope, faith, love and peace find their way through your clouds as well.

A story of war, prejudice, migration, crime, love, and heartbreak. The Prophecy saga is a fast-moving, intriguing historical tale, spanning more than 70 years.
On a blustery January day in 1952, Mina Kota gives birth to her daughter, Miriam. Mina and her mother, Punita, endeavour to protect Miriam from their business associates and raise her in a loving home in post-war Amsterdam. As she grows to adulthood, Miriam struggles with her identity. She demands that Punita teach her how to read tarot cards and seeks to fulfill their predictions, while pursuing the one thing from which her elders sought to shield her innocence: sexual desire.
Hart Lange is born at the end of 1949 into a family of soldiers whose wartime experiences drove their need to survive, sometimes against treacherous odds. They are a family bound together by a web of enduring love.
When Miriam meets Hart, she sees an opportunity to change her life and achieve her dreams. When Hart shares his longing for a child, she sets out to oblige him, thereby securing her future-or so she thinks.
Hart loves his wife and son, and believes his family is a happy one. However, his love blinds him to Miriam's willfulness. Too late, he realizes that he's failed to heed his mother-in-law's warning. When Miriam disappears, taking their son Matthew with her, Hart is devastated. Although Hart's search for his son is relentless, he fears that he will never see Matthew again.
Together, The Crest, The Emerald and The Destiny tell of the challenges and changes that external forces place on everyday people, who must rise above their own expectations to meet family obligations and responsibilities-no matter how reluctant they may be to do so. They provide the reader with an opportunity to consider life from an alternate perspective.

The Devil's Brigade
THE DEVIL'S PILE BRIGADE - A NICK LASSITER-SKYLER THRILLER BOOK 1 (FORMERLY THE SLUSH PILE BRIGADE)
#1 DENVER POST BESTSELLER (FICTION)
AWARD-WINNING FINALIST BEVERLY HILLS BOOK AWARDS (MYSTERY)
In this first thriller in the Nick Lassiter-Skyler International Espionage Series, Mr. Everyman Nick Lassiter becomes an unwitting intelligence operative and encounters for the first time the beautiful female assassin Skyler, who plays a prominent role in Books 2 and 3 of the series. As he celebrates his thirtieth birthday with friends, Lassiter is also a man in crisis: he has lost his girlfriend and his job, is wanted by the police, and has discovered that his unpublished thriller, Blind Thrust, has been stolen and turned into a blockbuster movie called Subterranean Storm. Even worse, the movie is based on a soon-to-be bestselling novel by Australian thriller writer Cameron Beckett, one of the world's biggest brand-name authors. Rather than seek revenge through a financial settlement or public humiliation, Lassiter sets out for New York to obtain mea culpas from Beckett and his renowned literary agent, whom he is certain colluded with the Aussie in stealing his debut novel.
Once in New York, Lassiter, and his three fish-out-of-water friends who insist on accompanying him, instantly run afoul of the law and other powerful forces intent on thwarting them and their mission. As they encounter one thorny obstacle after another, the scope of their inquiries expands and they are soon in way over their heads, battling toe-to-toe not only against the mega-bestselling author and his agent, but a formidable army of antagonists, including the NYPD, Beckett's Big Five publishing house security squad, and the Russian mob. Collectively, these adversaries present Lassiter with the greatest--and deadliest--challenge of his life.
Unexpectedly aided by his CIA father, Director of the Russian Counterintelligence Desk, and his former girlfriend turned CIA-informant, Lassiter and his comrades take to calling themselves the Devil's Brigade in tribute to the legendary U.S.-Canadian First Special Service Force, an elite commando outfit that fought in Italy in World War Two. Outmatched and outgunned, they are foiled at every turn but still they are determined to win. But will justice be attained? Can they prove that Beckett and his crooked literary agent have stolen Lassiter's blockbuster novel and are undeservedly reaping the success? More importantly, can they solve one of the most important counterintelligence cases in CIA history and in the process honor the original Devil's Brigade?

The Dragon Choker
Eleanor Brice Desmarais, she of the cracked glass slipper and unladylike intellectual propensities, has learned that happily-ever-after is as rare as a frozen dragon, even for a happenstance princess. She survived a plot against her life, but her marriage to the alcoholic, womanizing Prince Gregory of Cartheigh remains at best a sham, and at worse, a potential noose around her neck. Gregory is increasingly suspicious of Eleanor's unusually close relationship with his best friend, Dorian Finley, and with good reason. Ironically, Gregory seems to be engaged in his own scandalous love affair-- with Eleanor's scheming stepsister, no less. Eleanor understands the harsh realities of women's lives in her kingdom, so she turns her energies to a school for impoverished girls, until an evil magician's deception destroys the school and unleashes a festering plague. From the Fire-iron walls of Eclatant Palace to the slums of Meggett Fringe, no one, magical or mundane, is safe from the fever-induced delirium of the Great Burning. Not even Eleanor's children.
As Eleanor's happily-ever-after morphs from circumspect to heartbreaking to mortally dangerous, for both herself and Dorian, she faces her greatest losses and her harshest reckoning. No matter what life hands her, however, she finds the strength to do what she must. She stares down her challenges, protects her loved ones, and fights to change the world. Just like women everywhere, in her world, and ours.

Jake Palmer accepts an offer from a defense contractor to consult with the company on the death of an engineer assigned to the top-secret Perseus Project-the development of the navigation and targeting systems for an experimental Navy drone.
Two days into the case, Palmer finds the defense contractor shot dead. What he discovers convinces him that both deaths are related to the project and that someone within the company is working with terrorists to seize control of the drone during a planned live-fire test in Afghanistan. With no hard evidence to support his theory, he is unable to persuade either the company or the Navy that an imminent threat exists. Concerned that he will disrupt the test, the company terminates Palmer's contract and notifies the police.
Pursued by the police and headed for engagement with a large, well-armed terrorist cell led by the company insider, Palmer is close to defeat when he receives help from the most unlikely person. With only hours to spare, they race to stop an attack half a world away.

The night before the wedding a U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agent meets Palmer in the hotel bar and requests his help. He leaves Palmer a sealed envelope and tells him to review the contents, saying he will be in touch in a few days.
Moments later, the agent is gunned down. Palmer decides to return the envelope to HSI but not until after he and Collins open it. Inside they find a cryptic note from the agent and information related to a counterfeit medicine case involving a drug manufactured by the company where Collins works. The next morning, they take the envelope to HSI’s New York office, ending Palmer’s involvement in the investigation, or so he thinks. Collins returns to London intent on finding more about the counterfeiting of one of their newest medicines.
After an unexpected event changes Palmer’s perspective, he teams with the HSI special agent now in charge of the case. Together they pursue those behind a global counterfeit medicine and money-laundering operation. As the investigation unfolds, Palmer makes a startling discovery that raises his personal stake in the outcome and reveals the real reason the murdered HSI agent wanted him involved.
With those closest to him now in danger and more patients dying from taking a medication that contains almost none of the life-saving ingredient, time is running out. The search for answers takes Palmer to London, Rome, and the Amalfi Coast, each step moving him closer to a confrontation with one of the world's most dangerous assassins, former Russian Spetsnaz operator Viktor Utkin. The Envelope will keep you up at night and make you question those medicines that seem to change shape and color each time you refill them.

The Existential Worries of Mags Munroe
My twelve-year-old daughter frequently moans that Ballycarrick is the most boring town in Ireland.
Nothing ever happens here.
She's right.
And as the local police sergeant, this is something I'm delighted about.
I've enough to worry about-the polar ice-caps, the evil monster that's shrinking my trousers, not to mention the hot flushes-without having to be like one of those gritty Netflix cops, chasing criminals down alleyways and busting drug deals.
So, life is calm and fairly predictable.
Until something unthinkable happens in our sleepy backwater.
A crime, but not like anything I've ever seen before.
It's a complete mystery.
And it's up to me to solve it.

But nothing compares to the chilling, dangerous beauty of the fae king. And when my sister flees the castle and her terrifying husband-to-be, I'm left to marry him instead.
